She was born in Enfield, London. A member of a local theatre group since she was 10, Michelle was picked for her role in EastEnders when she was 15 and first appeared on the show in September 2000. In 2005 Michelle announced that she was leaving EastEnders as she wanted to concentrate on modelling and go on to establish herself as a movie actress.
Michelle's latest role was in the British television show Marple, which screened in February 2006.
According to the British newspaper The Sun, Michelle auditioned to replace Billie Piper as the Doctor's companion in Doctor Who; however Fr! eema Agyeman was ultimately chosen for the role.
Mi! chelle i s currently filming Jekyll for BBC, a modern day version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, starring James Nesbitt.
Michelle also played a character in the UK television series The Worst Witch.
